Linc Taylor grew up in South Africa immersed in the natural world. His father was a game warden, his mother a passionate gardener — and the Bushveld was their backyard. Long before he held a landscape contractor's license, Linc was learning to read the land: how plants thrive, how ecosystems connect, how skilled hands can shape an environment without breaking it.
After graduating from Settler's Agricultural High School in 1987, Linc made the leap from southern Africa to West Texas — arriving at Western Texas College in Snyder, TX, where he turned that lifelong curiosity into four Associate of Applied Science degrees in three years.
In 1995, Linc planted his roots in Alvin, TX — and Bluethumb Landscape was born. He started with lawn maintenance and landscape installation, building a reputation across the Greater Houston area one project at a time. As his client base grew and their needs evolved, so did the business.
By 2005, Linc had deliberately transitioned out of routine maintenance and expanded into the work that truly sets Bluethumb apart: custom hardscapes, outdoor kitchens, water features, irrigation systems, retaining walls, and full landscape design. Thirty years in, that focus hasn't wavered — only deepened.
Four applied science degrees aren't just lines on a résumé. They're the reason Linc designs irrigation systems that actually work in Houston's clay soil, selects plants that survive the region's heat and storms, and builds structures engineered to last.
